No problems what so ever after 6 months of nightly use.
Value:
I don't think you can find this many i/o ports, preamp quality, for $600 in any other audio interface.

I can't detect any distortion. You pretty much get what you put into it.
Overall:
The rack mounted firepod feels solid and is the best firewire audio interface you can get for the price. If mine was lost or stolen, I would definitely go get another one.
