Gibson SG Standard Electric Guitar (With Case)
6-String Electric Guitars
Gibson's new, solidbody guitar of the 60's, the SG, broke through traditional concepts of solidbody electrics and became an instant classic.

REVIEWS Feature: The SG guitar is very playable and the reissues are very light, to light for my tastes.
Sound: I have owned high end Gibson Les Pauls and high end Gibson SG's and the SG's just don't hold their value like a Les Paul does. A Les Paul is a work of art while the SG models are more of a run of the mill type guitar. Maybe if Angus Young of AC/DC was a man and could actually handle the weight of a Les Paul guitar he might use one. Most collectors and people knowledgable with guitars in general will agree that the Gibson SG never was and never will be in the same league as the Les Paul electric guitar.
Overall: I owned a Gibson SG reissue for 15 years and when it came time to sell I was very dissapointed that the guitar had dropped so much in resale value. I was never happy with the guitars tone or sound. My 100 dollar Dean evo XM has a better tone than the SG ever did.
