ReviewsFeature: At this point in time, the Korg Zero 8 provides the best MIDI layout for operating Ableton Live that I have encountered. It is almost perfect for my needs. I only wish there were more buttons for each channel, for assigning clip launch and stuff like that.
Quality: The overall build quality is good. The mixer itself is heavy and sturdy. The faders are too loose for my taste. I like faders to feel more like an Allen & Heath Xone 62. Crossfaders should be loose. But I think upfaders should be harder to move. I have to worry about accidentally hitting the upfaders on the Korg. The EQ knobs feel a little flimsy. I wouldn't use this mixer as a club install. I think the knobs would wear out quickly.
Sound: The Korg Zero mixers are suffering from serious noise problems. There is a high amount of background hiss, which is noticable through both the master and booth outputs.
Ease of Use: It is quite easy to use the Zero 8. The Zero Edit software is great. Very customizable.
Overall: Overall a good mixer, but the noise problems will prevent you from using it in a live situation... or for recording. Until Korg fixes the noise issue, I would recommend waiting to purchase.
