The Carbo-Rod is an effect stick. You can get a brush type effect. You can get a sound that is between a brush and a drumstick. One may strike the Carbo-Rods on the rim wrapped portion to obtain yet another unique sound. If you strike the Carbo-Rods on the gap (??sweet-spot?g) between the upper portion of the handle and the lower region of the rim wrapped gaffers tape, you can get a loud ??pop?g sound that is unique as well. The point is, depending on what Carbo-Rods you use and on what portion of the Carbo-Rods you strike the instrument with, and on how soft or loud you play, the Carbo-Rod is an effect stick that will produce a wide variety of sounds.
